Edie Jones resides in Central Oregon with her husband of more than 52 years. Together, she and Ted enjoy the lifestyle offered by living in a state that provides opportunities for exploring forests, mountains, seashores and dessert. As diversified as the state are her many interests of hiking, gardening, cooking, sewing, singing in her church choir, being active in P.E.O., liturgical dance, writing, volunteering, and teaching. Her undergraduate degree of a BA in Recreation from Washington State University led her to a career of working for the Kentuckiana Girl Scout Council in Louisville, KY and later to owning and directing Camp Tamarack in the beautiful Oregon Cascade Mountains. She received a Masters degree in Adult Education in 2001 from Oregon State University while working for Together For Children, a parent/child program that provided education and support for families with young children.
She was with Together For Children for twenty-one years, serving and learning as a parent educator, an early childhood educator and as the director from 2001 to 2013 when she retired. Since then she has committed her time to writing Raising Kids With Love, Honor and Respect; Recipes for Success in hopes of assisting where needed the parents, grandparents, teachers and childcare providers who are so important to the children in their care.
